Owner  Dr. Lora Phelps is a native of Upper East Tennessee and a 2002 graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Veterinary Medicine. She began her professional career at the Elizabethton Veterinary Clinic May 2002 and since that time she has developed a reputation as a compassionate and professional General Practitioner. Of the various pieces of technological equipment available at the Elizabethton Veterinary Clinic, the ultrasound equipment is probably her favorite. She avails herself of many sources of continuing education in order to stay proficient in its use. She also enjoys working with exotic pets. Dr Phelps is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, and the Tri-Cities Academy of Veterinary Medicine. She is the mother of one daughter. She and her family and their two dogs and two cats spend enjoyable time at the area lakes. Scuba diving is her favorite pastime.

 Dr. Stephanie Moore:

Stephanie Moore is the newest addition to Elizabethton Veterinary Clinic. She graduated with honors from Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Following graduation she completed a 1 year rotating internship at Regional Institute for Veterinary Emergencies and Referrals in Chattanooga, Tn.  During her internship she fell in love with all things small animal-wellness exams, internal medicine, and surgery. Stephanie is an East Tennessee native; she grew up and currently resides in Unicoi County. She attended East Tennessee State University prior to veterinary school. Her extracurricular activities include spending time with her Rocky Mountain Horses, hiking, running, and yoga.

All of the staff members at the Elizabethton Veterinary Clinic are professionally identified as Veterinary assistants and have been trained in their skills by the Clinic’s professional staff. All are quite competent in their skills and their jobs and they bring a varied and interesting set of personalities and histories to the Elizabethton Veterinary Clinic. All of the staff are competent in the O.R., in the exam rooms, in the kennel rooms, as surgical “scrub-ins”, as front desk personnel, with the use of the laboratory equipment and tonometer, and with assisting the veterinarians with the radiological and ultrasound equipment. In accordance with the pertinent laws, the veterinary assistants do not make diagnoses and always work under the direction of a veterinarian.

She was a practicing phlebotomist when she joined the Elizabethton Veterinary Clinic in May 2006. She and her husband live in rural Carter County with dogs, a cat, and an annoying donkey named ‘Elvis’. Friends, family, 4-wheeling, outdoors, and shopping all keep her quite busy.
